our art tutor is experienced with students of various ages and abilities and provides art tuition to those with a desire to embrace art and develop their skills. whether you are just starting out or are more experienced, the art sessions are flexible and cater to a wide range of needs.
budding beginners
every artist must first learn some basic techniques before they can begin producing the masterpieces of the future.
our tutor starts right at the most basic of techniques from
how to hold a pencil - a pencil is held differently depending upon its use (writing, drawing, sketching, marking out, shading) knowing how to correctly hold a pencil will improve your skills dramatically.
to paintbrush care, painting techniques, and pattern and texture.
during each session students develop new skills and learn how to apply them successfully.
intermediate
for those with a little more experience sessions are designed to further develop the skills students already possess and to equip students with new skills, in order to encourage individuality in a wider range of styles and mediums.
session topics include:
colour theory, portraits, abstract art, still life, sculpture, texture, working in layers, and much more...
advanced
as students progress sessions begin to focus on individual professional practice, this includes
framing work, exhibition theory and practice, displaying work, how to price work, how to sell work.
